My Favorite Markets in the Atlanta AreaThis is the five minute guide to my favorite markets around the Atlanta area. This is very basic information but I hope it can be helpful to y'all.ScottsScotts is always the second weekend of every month. It is located in Jonesboro, South Atlanta. Not far from the airport. Scotts has two buildings - the North and South buildings. I am located in the South building. There are also stalls outside, some covered, some not. Its the biggest show in the Atlanta area and draws the most people. People come to Scotts from all over the country, even the world. It draws celebrities like Martha Stewart, Shabby Chic's Rachael Ashwell etc. When you walk around Scotts you feel like you are in a true antique market with treasures from around the world, some would say Atlanta's own 'Paris Brocante'. It costs $5 to get in and it takes a (pleasant) afternoon to walk around and see all the stalls. If you are looking for 'true' antiques then Scotts is the place to go.Lakewood 400Lakewood 400 is very small compared with Scotts and does not have the depth of products that Scotts provides. However this show is known to have some interesting old items for sale. It has one building and some vendors setup outside. It is very convenient if you live in the '400 corridor' of North Atlanta. It is located in Cumming, GA off exit 13.Paper MillThis show occurs three times a year in East Cobb. It is very small compared with Scotts but it is always interesting because the vendors change more often than in the monthly shows.South Eastern Flower ShowThe South Eastern Flower Show is annual - end of January / start of February. It doesn't really have true antiques for sale but it is a great place to go for garden ideas and garden accessories. I attend this show every year. It is located at the Cobb Galleria.Linkshttp://www.scottantiquemarket.com/http://www.lakewoodantiques.com/ http://www.papermillmarket.com/ http://www.flowershow.org/ |
